Wordless Wednesday

Me and my brother during our visit to an unfinished beach resort.

And more! :)
click on photo to enlarge :) thanks!

The first and second row photos were while we were on the way to the said resort. I enjoyed the view so much because it clearly shows the local rural life of the area. There are mountains which boast of virgin forests, and there are also plane lands with vast rice fields. I was happy to see that there was actually a big house being constructed in the area and it had a Western touch to its design. It isn't so rural after all. :)

When we reached the place, I thought we were going to see a wonderful beach or big pools. I was quite frustrated with what I saw but then I remembered what my uncle told me -
we were visiting the place for the view, not the beach.

True enough, it was a nice and interesting place to stay at. They had rooms for those who wanted to stay overnight. They also had a restaurant, a SUTUKIL (sounds like, shoot to kill, right?) which stands for SUgba (roast), TUla (that's a way of cooking a soup dish) and KILaw (a raw fish dish). From there, you could also see some islands and enjoy the scenic view of the sea.

What amazed me was their gigantic pool (second picture, third row) because it had that unique slide which, as the caretaker said, leads to a (still-to-be-constructed) seawater pool. That means that they would have to pump in seawater everyday and fill the pool up. Weird thing is that just a wall away is the sea itself. I wonder why they didn't have to lead the slide to the sea itself. Maybe because the slide would be useless during a low tide? Perhaps then..

Or. Another guess is that the seawater wasn't that inviting. Check out the last photo on the last row, there are stairs which lead to the sea and when we went there, it was murky! Who would want to bathe in murky waters?

Anyways, I enjoyed my afternoon stay there. Especially that they had cute cottages.
I hope to see the progress when I get back. :)

Free Your Mind Tuesday #5: Hating hate

This is post #5 in a series of post for the 50 questions that will "Free Your Mind" which I will be doing every Tuesday. If you have chanced upon my blog and have answered or is also planning to answer the same set of questions, please do link up so that we can all read each others' entries.

#5.
What is the one thing you'd most like to change about the world?

When I first read all the questions in this series, I tried to give out short answers for each. Now I try to wonder why at first I said I'd change people's ideologies.
Maybe because I wanted everyone to live a life no less than the ordinary. I also wanted people to think radically. But then again, these may result to people hurting others in the process. Have you seen that old movie where people were turned to crackers by the government and were being sold to the people at a very low price? I totally forgot the title. I tried watching that movie by the suggestion of our Environmental Law professor but then it just wasn't for me...

Anyways, right now, maybe I'd change how the way people hate.
I think it's normal to actually hate a person. I even believe that it's healthy to an itsy bitsy extent. Because let's be honest, not everything in a person is lovable. And hating their bad traits might probably help them change. Yes, I know, we have to love unconditionally, but let's call this hate one that is for the better. Hate only the evil.
But I don't want anyone to hate to the extent of grudging. To the extent of hurting, and maybe of revenge. Hate of that kind will lead us nowhere.

There were lots of times I felt hatred, especially against people who hurt me, and did me wrong. What I did was to pray. I prayed to God that He help me get rid of all the hatred that I feel. I always think that I'll be alkansi, or in the disadvantage if I let go of my hate and not do anything about it (or against the person). But what a waste of time and emotions if I dwell on it. I get to save more if I let go of it that early.
I had a really bad experience one time where this person whom I thought was a true friend hurt me so bad that he said bad things about me. I try to believe that I am a strong person, and that words can never affect me, because they are just that, words. But then again, I am only human and I do have emotions. I cried a lot that time. Even after the incident, I continued to cry. I couldn't believe why a person could say such bad thins about me, knowing they weren't true.
I went to light candles for that person. Seriously. I prayed to God to help me let go of all the hatred. It was hard. But it was easier to let go of the feeling because I knew that all that person said about me was not true. I guess it's easier to move on when there is no guilt. And it's easier to forgive when you first let go of all the hate and the pain. What's the use of holding on to them anyway?
Hold on to love and what's left of it. Hold on to happiness, it will guide you.

Meet me on Monday

Meet me on Monday

1.  What is your favorite yogurt flavor?
I don't enjoy yogurt that much but I regularly buy it (just because I think it's healthy). I buy those called 'fruit selection' because they have bits of fruits.

Yogurt ice cream is a totally different story though.  I love it! I prefer the healthy option still - green tea! :D

this is the only photo i have of yogurt ice cream. the guy spelled my name totally wrong. m-u-r-d-e-r.

2.  Ankle or knee socks? and on the same theme, white socks or coloured??
I was thinking of the same thing today. If it were me during my time, I'd prefer knee socks. I loved how I looked in knee socks when I was a kid. But I'm no longer a kid!haha I prefer ankle socks, colored.
how we looked about 9 years ago.. haha! not-so-knee-high! :)

3.  How is the weather right now?
I cannot cannot!! haha [ that's what I usually say when I don't knw what to say ;-)]
It's hard to describe the weather in the Philippines today. Summer has ended and we're welcoming the wet (rainy) season. However, it looks like the summer hasn't given way yet. It gets too hot at times and then it rains super hard a couple of hours after. To weather: make up your mind...

4.  Are you a fast typer?
I used to be. The fastest I could remember was at 74 wpm. I try to touch type, but I'm not the best at it. I'm at around 50-55wpm at present. You see, I used to work as a chat agent for an American monitoring software company. You know, those types which record both your online and offline activities..
Do you see those websites where you just chat for sales or technical support?

I used to be one of their agents.
Of course, there were predefined answers for specific questions, but it's always different when you put a personal touch to your responses. You ask though why the responses are so slow. There are so many people on chat at a time! You think you're the only one and that the agent you're talking with is not listening to your concerns? She's actually busy looking up your account and trying to figure out your problem - as well as  5 other people's.

5.  Red or White Wine?
Earlier, I preferred the healthy options which would presumably lead to to answer Red Wine in this question. I however like white wine more since it only tastes like juice. haha! :) But it really depends upon what I'm eating. We used to store red wine since it's good for the heart, but stopped because of the dengue outbreak where we all drank apple juice. Red wine was then forgotten. ;-)  Apple juice then became the 'healthy drink'.
Perfect! [via]
